Tim Prudhomme's solo debut, With the Hole Dug, is a magnificent collection of songs of the painterly portrait sort. From the Dickensian Mr. Lucky into the late night, early morning at 3 a. m., we view the dark beauty of the hapless and the hopeless. Doug Easley (infamous for his mellifluous pedal steel work with illuminati Two Dollar Guitar, Catpower, Pavement, etc) proffers a lavish extravagance of starkness; of notes, noize, and specialty knobs. He is joined by Jack Adcock (The Last Chance Jug Band) with congas and bongos, Alex Greene (Big Ass Truck, Lorette Velvette, Reigning Sound) on organs, Megan Reilly on vocals, Stu Trainwreck Sikes on drooms, Geoff Soule (fuck) on traps and piano, and Davis McCain on aborted theremin. Timothy sings and plays guitar.
